BRINO Deal

How many wasted years was it, when they changed from the Passports for multiple visits to the once time only certificates?
Now they have to reintroduce the whole kaboodle, from printing passports, training Vets, training border control, educating the public, updating websites, informing travel companies, etc.
What a farce Brexit is/was.
so not soon then. thought so.

Rome wasn't built in a day. :ROFLMAO:
Brexit, and its supposed gains, wasn't achieved in 9 years.

Now mbk's unwarranted criticism of the advancement in UK - EU relations has been exposed, he's reduced to whingeing how long the improvement in relations will take. :ROFLMAO:

Nope. I asked what we are getting.
Anyone done the analysis?

What are we getting?

- Access to eGates? Seems unclear
- Less checks on goods, not sure what "less" is

I can see the EU gets to drain our waters for another 12 years.

A lot of people getting excited and a lot of others getting angry.

Personally I always thought we'd do a BRINO, so I am not too bothered about softening the deal.

On Pet Passports, you only need the one for each pet, which can be used time and time again, of course with the immunisations kept up to date. But what responsible pet owner does not do that.

The alternative which replaced that due to Brexit, was an Animal Health certificate, required for each visit to the EU, and needed paying for each one.

EU Pet passport £60 - £100. Once for the lifetime of the pet.

Animal Health certificate £100 - £300 required for each visit.

See the advantages of the Pet Passport?

An obvious saving of £000's over the lifetime of the pet.

For pet owners it can't come quick enough. But then for pet owners it should never have been lost in the first place.

And bikerboy.

So I go back to my earlier point.

Fishing rights were worth an extension to the Schengen non-visa limit. Something that some EU countries had been pushing for.

Dog passports are handy, for pet owners. I don't disagree. though I note the observations of the vet industry. I also have no problem with the UK being a rule taker on food standards.

So your only concern is with fishing rights?
So make your case, rather than a bland., "I'm concerned about the fishing right".

I don't think it's really a concern about our fishermen's rights. It's more that some saw it as our biggest bargaining chip. But I believe, as in every round of negotiations since 1973, its power has been overestimated.

It's also another example of any stick to beat a drum.

My dad was always furious that Ted Heath "gave away" our fishing rights.

I've just been trying to find more info. The whole history seems to be very complicated.

Sadly, the Brexers insisted on an end to Freedom Of Movement.

It will take a long time and a lot of effort to work our way back anywhere near the terms our Brexers threw away.

nothing complex, some countries are islands and have a lot of territorial waters, others aren't and don't. Fish is one of the few high margin industries, and most people like to eat it.

"produced by Hollie Ridley on behalf of the Labour Party." You forgot to crop that bit out.

So what did we get? and when are we getting it?

I'll wait..
are you saying those businesses etc do not support the deal?
