normally I'd agree.. but it's pretty sickening reading / hearing about the genocide of a group / race of people by sick disillusion extremists.

Personally I'm happy for my tax to contribute to help them (see below how it is being spent), in this instance, 10,000s are starving to death having escaped torture / murder ...

the ISIS seem to got there foothold in Syria and are spreading.. although that's another story / mistake

£2 million of emergency humanitarian supplies for 75,000 people, including aid that can be air dropped to help those trapped in the Sinjar Mountains as quickly as possible. Supplies will include reusable filtration containers filled with clean water, tents and tarpaulins to provide basic shelter, and solar lights that can also recharge mobile phones to enable communication.
£3 million of fast-tracked funding that will go to charities and NGOs who are already on the ground and helping displaced people in northern Iraq. This will go via DFID’s Rapid Response Facility, which has now been activated to deal with the crisis;
£2.5 million of support for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to provide immediate medical and humanitarian assistance; and
a further £500,000 that will ensure Kurdish and UN systems are able to coordinate and respond to humanitarian needs in the region.

Violence has always bred peace and harmony.
I suspect any nuclear weapon used in these days would result in a round of nuclear exchanges.
That an unusual type of peace and harmony.
On that basis, it's peace and harmony in prisons because the prison population are worried about misbehaving due to any repercussions.

Whilst I agree that what is happening is terrible, why is it always Britain that sends the cash we can ill afford. What about the British people that were flooded in the storms, probably STILL waiting for help but no, f**k them, not important. Will we see any donations from Spain, Italy, France, China, Germany, Canada.... I doubt it.

Ca-moron just can't wait to donate the money the government has collected through ill-gotten taxes, levies and ridiculous fines, whilst this country is about to be sucked down the soil & vent for ever.

I agree. The problem though with bombing the Worlds terrorists is that half of them live here.

I agree.

What about our own elderly people who die every winter.??? purely due to freezing to death in their homes, too frightened to put the heating on because they simply can't afford it.

What about our own homeless people, no food, no shelter, no hope.

It's f*cked up squeaky, that's for sure.

I think it's immoral spraying money around the world, which is taken/stolen from hard working people. It's done because of the vanity of our crooked polIticians. The money then often ends up in the hands of other crooked politicians.

Someone once said - 'foreign aid is when money is taken from the poor people of a rich country, and given to the rich people of a poor country'. Never a truer word.

If people want to give their money to charities that then pump it into (never) developing countries, etc - that's their choice. Governments shouldn't be in the charity game.

I've got no problem with a bit of aid, but only if we are physically delivering it (like dropping medical supplies and food), absolutely against any financial aid as it just gets stolen.

The reason we have old people unable to afford heating, or people living on the breadline isn't because the government are not chucking them enough money.

As to a shortage of money for our own services, I'm far more concerned with overpaid public servants both draining the funds and stifling business than aid money.

8m in the grand skeam off things is not a lot when shared over the whole nation
its about 15p from every man woman and child
and if we gave it to every pensioner they would get around £1 each

How many blankets would £8m provide to each lone poverty stricken pensioner in this country???

Not the ones with money, just the poor souls that will die this winter???

LOTS.

theyve apparently just given our local economy 2million because our pier has burnt down, wasnt the fooking thing insured then?
