It was hilarious last night watching Tories in the HoC claiming the EU are forcing checks of goods that are moving internally between NI and GB.
FFS that was the Brexit they voted for.

Just curious as to whether you read something and thought "ah, this is relevant to a thread on DIYN that finished 4 years ago; I'll go find it and post it up there.."
..or whether it was the forum suggesting some ancient thread as being related and you didn't notice the date/mention of BoJo (who?) and didn't realise what you were floating?

To be honest, it was JohnD's poo pooing of people that are fooled by a 'three word slogan' that jogged my memory. He is always running down those that use a three word slogan, have you never noticed? Perhaps he thinks that by repeating it over and over and over again it will become a truth? Bizarrely, he is one of the worst offenders. It was much more recent than the example I quoted, just that that was one of the first ones that came up when I searched. I’ll see if I can find the actual post I was thinking about.
Edit: Here we are. October 2024. This is what I was thinking about. It was me having a pop at him utilising his three word slogan. Is that recent enough for you?

Seriously, that's all it takes to convince an RWR, especially if a lot of people are chanting it and waving a flag at the same time.
When Trump was leading the vote count (last election) "...stop the count, stop the count, stop the count...." went the RWR.
Then when Biden caught up they quickly switched to, "...count the vote, count the vote, count the vote..."
The difference Mottie is that educated folk don't need slogans, whether they are three word chants or otherwise. Morons thrive on them.

Only having three words in a sentence is not the same as chanting a three word slogan. I can see why you'd get confused though.
