I have had a quote from BG to fit one of these boilers but forgor to ask about the water heating part of the system, at the moment we have a hot water tank and a coldwater tank in the loft which will both stay, we appear to run out of hot water qucikly and wanted to know how the hot water was replenished and how quick - does it contantly top up with hot water when used?

Many Thanks

it will work exactly the same as your existing boiler
you may be interested to know also that this boiler is a Glowworm Flexicom with a different display panel.

Ok, many thanks for that - hopefully it would heat the water up wuicker than ity does now as it does seem to take a whie :(

Also can you tell me what the actual model of Glowworm Flexicom it would be please?

It is glow worm HXI ,just badged up as a bg 330 ,I pulled one out last year on flat conversion.Nice compact boiler and does the job very well

330+ is a turd.

crappy electrodes and a gimmicky econometer that is virtually useless.

There was an issue with the earlier electrodes but not now.The econometer is and optional extra and not neccessary.Overall a good boiler and far removed from a turd as stated previously. The 330+ is a flexicom and not an HXI.

wrong one mate, thats the 330, the new one is the 330+ its a flexicom hx with an ultracom front display.

I would speak to BG regarding the hot water issue. There are options available, bigger HW cylinder, or fast recovery cylinders (the hot water reheats faster after some has been drawn off) if you have times of peak demand. If you are having work done you need a setup that will work for you. Be prepared for the quote to increase though!

These systems work by using a coil of pipe inside the HW cylinder connected to the boiler. The boiler heats water, which is passed through the coil, transferring its heat into the water inside the cylinder thus heating it. This water is then returned to the boiler for reheating, it doesnt mix with the water you draw from the hot taps.

Can I ask also re this boiler and water cylinder, as I have the heating on, the water in the tank is also very hot without me setting the hot water to come on, does this sound correct. I hate the thought of the tank been full and red hot just because I have the heating on, can anyone advise?? Thanks

Yes advice is to start your own new thread as you’ve hijacked a 10 year old post  which is against forum rules
