Hi
I did a tdr test it said the break was 0.1m in. I chopped off a little more than 10cm. Now the tdr test tells me pairs 3 and 6 are 21 meters long which is the same as the others.
I did a continuity test but all passed except for number 6.

Am confused which test is telling the truth and how can fix my cable?

Any external signs of damage to the cable?

I don't know how accurate the TDR tests ought to be, but I'd be surprised if they are as good as 10cm. Gigabit ethernet has a symbol rate of 125 Msymbols/s, i.e. a period of 8 ns. If the PHY chip is using the same circuitry for the TDR, then it might be able to measure a reflection time to an accuracy of 8 ns - which is about 3 meters. I.e. 1.5 meters out-and-back. Maybe it does better than that, but probably not by an order of magnitude. I guess I would interpret "fault at 10cm" as "plug is broken", or similar.

I agree likely to be connectors at 0.1, but chop off just behind the connector, then peel back a bit before putting a new connector on.

It’s likely the cables could be damaged at the pooling the out sheath was cut.
