Never seen the point of it myself, I love it when it gets dark early as it makes my job a doddle and I can see which lights are giving us problems.

Some do I agree, but I personally spend most of GMT pining for the lighter evenings again..

Some of my relatives live near HM's route. They say the street lighting is awful in that area! They have to have LED's on their legs to help see where they are peeing!!!!

I switch them off early to save on energy, I look upon street lighting as my own lights at home

They distract mom and she runs over children that are not in her car.

If its not safe for them to go to school in the dark, then it must be equally unsafe for them coming home in the dark.
