Hi - I'm going to build a single detached garage this year. I have a narrow strip of land between my house and the neighbour's fence. I have done my own drawings and have planning permission. It's 6m long x 2.5m, so only 15 sq m and exempt from Building Regs.

I need a bit of help to make sure I don't over (or under) engineer it.

It's going to be clad in waney-edge boarding so it could be either blockwork or timber-framed using 100x100mm posts every 60cm. I'd value opinions on the best route here.

But first, foundations. I can't dig too deep - but should I go for strip foundations and if so how wide and deep? And then there would be 3 or 4 courses of double width brickwork. Again, advice would be very much appreciated.
