Hi, we are buying another house and at present they have converted the whole garage into a utility and playroom.
For storage they have put a shed down the left hand side of the property, there is still access down the right hand side to the garden.
What I am thinking is remove the shed, put a concrete base down the left hand side of the house and build a full length lean to workshop down the side, would this be ok aslong as the guttering doesn't over hang our boundry??.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

As long as its all within your boundary, just check everything passes your local town and county regs, also consult your neighbour before doing the work as you may need to access there land to do some of the work and both be in agreance of the boundary before hand.

Thanks for the reply, the boundary would be the fence between me and my neighbour, he has a shed up to the fence on his side to access from his side would be dificult anyway. I was thinking of building about a foot away from the fence so any small amount of roof overhang or guttering would still be on our side.

Have a look on your local authorities website they will have full planning permission and building regs on there, all depends on size and what material you use and varied from county to county, restrictions are usually on brick structures.
