Greetings, planning an extension which will come off my kitchen (one storey) walls, checked the footings (ok) but can foresee one problem during construction i.e. keeping the kitchen under watertight which is only a few years old, so do not want to rip out (even temp.)
the existing wall plate will have to be removed to build off the b/wk & the rafters removed but am hoping to keep the ceiling joists & plasterwork insitu
sheeting will be fine at first but as the b/wk gets higher it just becomes a big hole ready to fill up with water! not good, would it be practical to keep covering the "hole" with plastic sheeting as you go up? or another solution I thought of was a temp. flat (ish) roof formed off the new floorboards going above the kitchen? what does reckon chaps?
