hi
i have just bought a 1920s house with an old loo off the kitchen. well actually there is an unsightly sliding door in the kitchen which leads into a 'larder' 3feet square with a door to the old loo.
can i replace the sliding door with a proper one and remove to inside door so as to fit a basin? or do you have to have 2 doors to a loo off the kitchen?

you don't need two door separation from a toilet provided there are adequate washing facilities local to the loo and ventilation.

so long as the toilet is within 'dwelling' parameters then an internal hinged door is ok.
