Got builder building a conservatory. Glass three sides and wall the other.

Wall is brick then breeze blocks inside. Do we have to have this due to building regs? It takes up a 'lot' of the space then.

Builder did not make this clear at the time. If we'd known would have opted for glass. (although would dwarf wall be same thickness).

Also, for some reason hes left a huge gap on the other side. We asked him to build up to the external soil pipe but hes left 6" gap. Any reason for this?

Neighbours seem to have theirs right up to pipe.

Building regs don't normally apply to conservatories, you can have what you like

You are not very clear about what the 6" gap is for. It could be anything

Wall needs foundations (building regs or not). Foundations will be wider than the wall and against the drain or gully at the bottom of the soil pipe. Wall should be central on the foundation.

Looks like your builder may have done it properly and the neighbour had a cowboy.
