Buildings notice

Finally about to move into our new house (24/Aug).

One of the (many) jobs we have to do is replace the old, rotten, wooden conservatory.
Just wondered, as we are only replacing something which has already been built. Do we have to bother putting in a buildings notice form?
 
Instinct says don't worry about it -new for old can't be that wrong.

Try ringing Building Control at the council - they'll give you the right advice and it won't cost you anything :)
