I am redoing a kitchen on a house I have bought and was wondering this. There is no designated mains feed for the cooker in the kitchen. Can an electric oven be plugged directly into the mains socket via a plug and if so what is the maimum permissable output power ( I am assuming there is one)..

Only if the total oven power is less than 3KW, otherwise it will need a dedicated feed from the fuseboard.
