Buried and covered SWA?

Been talking to some friends about my upcoming outbuilding wiring project and one told me they buried SWA just 8inches under lawn and put a scaffold board on top of it to stop spades etc hitting it they also said their electrician said this was fine, is that so?

5 years from now the board will be rotten so i dont think its good protection

thats what i thought, i doubt he had an electrician look at it

Doesn't matter, the board can be replaced with something more durable at the same time as the cable is dug up and re-layed at 450mm which I make 19" in real money. Warning tape can be added at the same time
