hi,
can any one advise me why my dimmable triple candle bulb ceiling light makes makes a slight buzzing sound when on?
its a dimmable light fitting and whether its up high or low it still makes the same quiet buzzing sound when on,but no noise
when switched off.
thanks john

Are the fitting, dimmer module and lamps compatible with each other?

A slight buzz is normal.

maybe thats why theres a noise then, its made the noise for years now and we've just ignored, but ive just joined this site and thought i'd ask this question?
i dont know about compatable,i put on a double dimmer switch years ago, controlling upstairs and downstairs lights, then my wife decided she wanted her moms old treble candle bulb light fitting,so i attached it and it worked right away,so when you ask ,is it compatable, all i can say is,it works, and i had to replace the dimmer switch 3 months ago ,it stopped dimming, and i purchased exactly the same switch put it on and everything worked correctly again, but still slight buzzing.
so i suppose it rules out the switch being a problem?
thanks again john

Cheapo dimmer switches make buzzing noises.

Better ones designed specifically for LED lighting do not.
