Hi,

I am re-instating a toilet where an old one was, but there has been a cable added after the old toilet had gone.

Here's a photo: View media item 94046 Is it allowable to have a cable behind a toilet? The cable is to an outside socket.

I am not a spark but the cable is not in a safe zone, and I am guessing this is why EFLI has said it can't be hidden with plaster etc.

If a cable is in trunking then safe zones don't apply as it is assumed nobody will be stupid enough to drill into it!

That's right - but it obviously does assume that people are not so stupid that they don't realise that the 'white plastic thingy' probably contains a cable!

Kind Regards, John

That's a relief, and all comments noted.

Lessons have been learned! Note to myself: remove the plasterboard from the same trunking in the next room
