Hi I've come across a roll of round white twin n earth The label on the roll says
TYPE: H05VV=F
SIZE: 3 x 1mm squared (can't do an upper 2)
CODE: E491
STANDARD: BS 6500

My question is will I be OK to use this cable to power the ballast etc on a 600watt HPS light

do you mean 3 core flex?

and FYI, alt+0178 creates a ² ;)

Flex is what it is, but isn't it twin n earth. Doesn't 3 core have four wires in it, while twin n earth has 3 (earth L and N as this has)
How do you do that? I mean remember all those configurations for adding odd type characters!

Thanks for the reply.

Look in "character map" (somewhere in the start menu, depending on the version of windows) it tells you the number combos you type for funny symbols. ¿? hehe. ² is used a lot here, so i remember that one.

Twin and earth WOULD be called 3-core IF all 3 cores were identical, but they aren't. The earth is unsheathed and is usually a smaller diameter to the other 2 cores. In flex, all 3 cores are the same apart from colour.

H= Harmonised

05= 300/500V

VV= pvc insulation/pvc sheath

F= fine wire flexible cable.

Thanks to you for that additional info

Mine of info this site! PC world would be getting £1.50 a minute for this!
