Calling all sparks - anyone got an off-cut of split-con?

You used to be able to get a woman for a rib.

I almost missed the subtle edit there, Mr D.

Watch it or I'll post a picture of my RCBO-free understairs cupboard again! :P

[Sharp intake of breath]

You really know how to kick a man when he's down, don't you?

Secure...
Can you get a link as to what split looks like as i have some in Bredbury.
Got loads but not sure if its split or straight.

I can whack some in post...assuming only a foot...

That would be fantastic!

16mm² if you can.

A foot would be fine, but 2 feet (if you've got it) would be better.

If you e-mail me, I'll send you a cheque or make a bacs payment to your account to cover P&P & your trouble.

So give me a tip on your email

Never new you could view peoples profiles - You would think there would be a clickable link on the thread page.

Will email later.

Thanks. I'm away from home just now - in JohnD's neck of the woods, although he's in London - no going out for a beer, unfortunately....

But I'll be home on Monday.

Festa.....

Straight concentric (which is what I have) has a central insulated core for live, with bare copper wire (a bit like SWA) round the outside, the whole sheathed in black.

Split con is very similar, but half the surrounding cores are insulated to be used as neutral & the bare for earth.

Straight is used for PME & split for TN-S..

If you have a bit of Split-con, that would be fantastic. I'm looking for all types & sizes of split-con, so a sample from you & Lectrician would be a fantastic start!

Let me know by e-mail if you have some. I'm in Bramhall & can easily get over to Bredbury (or anywhere in S Manchester) anytime to suit you.

Hmm. Do not have it. Can you try sending it to "simon@" instead?

Cheers!
