Can anyone identify this roof tile please ?

Now i know its a Marley as its stamped on the back but the top of the tile is broken off so i can't take an exact measurement
That said, its 332mm wide and +412mm (the broken length)

So can anyone confirm that this is a Marley Ludlow Major please ?

2nd question.....

I'm looking to replace one of these tiles with a built in vent to duct the steam from an extractor fan over a shower

Can anyone confirm a good manufacturer of tile vents please ?

You want a roof terminal not a tile vent - unless the vent can act as a terminal too. Klober,Ubbink, Glidevale are common.

Can you confirm that if it mentions "....or mechanical extraction", then that means it is suitable for an extractor fan please ?

With a pair of scissors. The terminal should be installed to prevent water ingress so don’t get hung up on sealing it

If there is a felt lap above its simple. If not, glue a deflector strip above the flap of felt.

You cut the felt in an incomplete square, i.e. low front and two sides and fold the flap back up the roof. Prior to folding it back, slip in a deflector piece that gets folded up with the flap.


You can make your own vent with a pitched flexi slate, a mushroom cowl and a short length of pipe. Oh and a wee bit of timber cradling internally. It is better (if you can) to locate the vent exit smack on a tile joint.
