Can anyone tell me what this is?

I have a large coil of grey flex it has two black core’s one with the number 1 along its length and the other with number 2 along its length + an earth conductor
The marking on the flex reads
JZ 3 x 6 VDE Reg.Nr. 7014 pbfree ce K27404/
If I sleeve one of the cores to identify it as live is it possible to use it for anything?

It is designed for control wiring.

What are you hoping to use it for?

Most likely CY cable (if there is no outer braid).You need check it's insulation rating if you intend to use it for any mains wiring.

I’m not sure what to use it for (maybe a long extension lead)
It’s a little on the heavy side but I can just about get it in a 13a plug
Just seams a shame to waste it,
