Have you checked it will fit, given its overall dimensions?

Also it'll be heavy - what orientation is the lamp holder?
 
does the dark colour on walls make it look dim with the light on?

Repainting walls with light colour would brighter the room, make a lot different. :idea:

well it's only a musterdy/yellowy colour. i really like it so i want to keep the colour.

but yes, it has been said we used too many darker colours for a dark room.

so i'll go with one of those cheaper, powerful, energy saving bulbs as i posted above.
