Can I T-Cut this scuff?

Thank you Marve! I was waiting for you to message before I proceed, its dark out now but will do this tomorrow and will definitely send a pic after I have done it :)

Look forward to seeing the finished job, if you can succeed in getting an acceptable (to you) finish it's obviously the cheaper option.
The specialist would probably get it to the point of you never knowing the damage was sustained, but of course you get what you pay for

I'm very lucky insofar as having a semi-retired guy who is both expert at his trade & very reasonably priced :)

I am not surprised at the £500 quote. About 7 years ago I was told £150 a panel, so you have 2 damaged panels at £300 then plus an amount for inflation.
Looks like the going rate is now £250 a panel

Hi all. See attached pic, the weather got the best of me and I had to rush inside. I think it needs another attempt :notworthy:

Yeah, definitely worth another go. Keep working the area until you have got a sweat on that means you don't feel the cold! It is hard work by hand as you are doing the work of a machine polisher.

That being said, looking at your last photo, it doesn't look too hopeful you are going to get it to a stage where you don't notice it so much. If that does end up being your summation, I would look for a good local Smart repair type of guy who would be mobile and come to you and do it on your driveway.

Thank you, I did message a smart guy who said he's unable to do it as it is on the metal bodywork...

If you can feel it with your fingernail it needs painting.

Even filling the scratches with colour matched paint stick, leaving it a week and then polishing it out will look a lot better.

Evening everyone, I have decided to let BMW repair the damage. After negotiating I managed to bring them down from £1,000 to £500 not bad thinking local bodyshop repairers wanted more or less the same price. Obviously it’s a big hit and something I could have completely avoided but lesson learnt I suppose :sneaky:

Thank you all for the input I really appreciate all your help and responses, even the ones regarding my slides and white socks ;)
