just ripped out the old tiles and coved the room most of the skim coat has come off with the old tile.

i bought some mapei plaster primer to prime all the walls first is the bonding coat ok to tile over though ? i was going to level up the walls first with rapid set . 20190729_101118[1].jpg 20190729_101125[1].jpg 20190729_101135[1].jpg 20190729_101137[1].jpg

can anyone advise what is the safest method to prep the walls before tiling ? i have read either one coat plaster multi finish or quick set render but unsure which method to use i cannot seem to find anyone who stock the quickset render near me either.

i have scrapped all the loose stuff off and no hollow places are left ideally i would like to tile the end of the week so need something that will not take weeks to dry.

I used cement based tile adhesive to level up / fill my walls before sealing and tiling

that would be the easiest a cheap £10 bag would do.
wondering whether i should chop into the wall a bit and lay 6mm hardibacker boards. no need to tank it then.

I didn't tank - just acrylic sealer to stop the tile adhesive going off too quick

so leveled walls with rapid set and boarded out window so now nice and plumb and flat.
my dilemma is the bath is 75cm wide so that leaves around 13cm for a run of cuts along the wall edge and a full 60cm tile as there are border tiles going up the sides like the strip down the middle that is going to generate a lot of wastage if i just carve the two side off one tile.

is there a good way to get around this other than working out the other cuts before hand ?
