Am doing a referb in a fire damaged property, the kitchen mostly.

Can I legally, take out the old fire damaged combi so that I can clean a paint the alcove where it is located. The owner will be getting in a gas safe to fit a new one.

No. The gas needs disconnecting from the supply from a RGI.

If it's already done there is nothing stopping you from taking the boiler off the wall. Turn water and electrics of first mind

And be careful they are heavier than they look, especially when you lift it off its brackets.
