Hi,

I had a visit from the british gas engineer regarding something and mine being a very old conventional boiler system. He suggested that I can get a magnabooster2 fitted which can be tranferred even to a new boiler system when I get a new combi installed (I am planning to get a new boiler maybe by next year)

My question to you folks is can a mangabooster2 be fitted on the flow pipe instead of return as thats what he said becuz at present its not possible to fit it on the return pipe due to the pipe structure at present. He said it is normal to fit it on the flow pipe in case it cant be done on the return pipe.

Secondly he quoted £225 for it including parts and labour plus british gas gives a 20 year guarantee. Does it sound reasonable..?

All your inputs would be very helpful in making a decision.

Thanks in advance

Yes, it can be fitted on the flow. As a one off job it's a tad expensive, so why not wait until you have a new boiler fitted. The price should be lower when done in conjunction with the new installation and it can be fitted on the return, where it will do more to protect the new boiler.

I just spoke to the area sales rep of MB2 and he suggested that it will work on the flow pipe but as my present bioler is 25+ yrs old and I am planning to get a new on in a short time. It would be better to get it along with the new boiler.
