can you test a Danfloss HSA3?

Hello,
Could anyone tell me if you can test a Danfloss HSA3 motorised valve when removed from the central heating system - by applying power to it? If so, could anyone advise how this can be done?

Brown blue wires are mother grey and orange wires micro switch 240 to motor if arm goes across motor ok check other two wires if you get continuity they are ok. Bob

Sorry, bit of a novice and don't really understand. What do you mean by Mother? Thank you so much for your help-I hope I have responded correctly as I am completely new to writing on a forum and it is for my Dad!

What are you trying to test? Does this help at all? (Honeywell, but colours should be the same)

That is for a 2 port valve not a HSA3

still wrong for a mid position valve wiring

wasnt being a smart ass mate, a mid position valve does not have one live , all depends on what the controls demand, for a 2 port you are completely correct
