my mother's cooker (Cannon oakley) model no 10518G is suffering from the gas flame in the oven igniting but only staying has a small flame and not responding when the control knob is turned to max...is it the flame sensor? had a quick look on web and retail about £80 seems a bit pricey? think the oven is about 8yr old any help welcome...

As `Ihatemyjob`said it could be the burner not burning correctly where the F.S.D. crosses the burner but much more likely to be the actual F.S.D.(sensor).
Either way you need a gas safe engineer with the relevant cooker qualification to fix it.
The gas safe website will give you contact details of someone with the relevant qualifications in your area.
P.S.he may be able to get the part cheaper as he`ll have an account with a supplier,ask for a price from him,but cooker parts prices can be quite high.
