Hi, I was hoping I could get someone t o help me

I just purchased a new light with has 3 bulbs a connctor with Live, E and Neutral labelled

Coming from the ceiling I have only 2 sets of 3 core...I connected both Earths to E both Neutrals together and both Lives together into the connector but this trips the cct. I thought there would be a switched live if it was a loop but there are definitely just 6 wires?

Any thoughts on how to wire?

Thanks

Hello.
Take a look in the sticky for wiring diagrams etc.

It sounds like one of those 'blacks' is your 'switch return'.
Do you have a multimeter to hand ?

It's the end of the 'loop' so you have a feed cable and a switch cable, a multimeter is helpful, or a voltage indicator.

2 reds in a seperate terminal block ( not connected to anything on the light )
then one black in N, one black in L and the earths in earth..

technically you're supposed to find out which is the proper N and which is the switched live, but if it's a bayonett fitting then it makes no difference..
