Cannot search

Hi all,

When I try to search for anything the message comes up
telling me that nothing matched my search, when I know
the topic I'm trying to search for is there, as I use this all the time.
Also in the top left corner of the screen I get the message
"0" STATUS: COMMUNICATION ERROR
What does this mean, and can anyone advise me how to fix it.
