my kitchen supplier has just informed me i cant have an induction hob as they require a large clearance (i guess for heat?).

The hob installation states that this type of installation requires a minimum thickness of worktop and a minimum gap between the bottom of the hob and the top of the oven.

They have given me the option of:

1) change to a ceramic hob

2) loose 2 draws

3) change the 30mm granite to 40mm (two 20mm pieces stuck together)

or drop your oven down a little so you have more clearance above.

If you ordered it all from the same supplier and they installed they have the problem (mis-sold as all parts should be compatible) not you, if they provide all parts then they should work together as well.

another option is to not have the hob above the oven (dont know if that would fit in your kitchen though.

meant to say the oven is the other side of the room so the only thing underneath is draws.[/quote]
