Son came to help me get power to my shed, the best place to bring power out of the flat, was using the adaptable box being used for the UPS supply, so wanted to turn off UPS, and remove cable, to drill a larger hole.

I thought the switch shown in red

would turn off the supply, but no, so turned off two DC isolators, and three AC isolators all to no avail, in the end unplugged the plug shown in green. Every isolator I could find was turned off, before we resorted to unplugging the UPS.

The two isolators, in red,

seem to be missing, however I am sure before the second battery was added the rotary switch on the inverter did turn off the UPS output. I do intend to ring up on Tuesday, but should there not be instructions on how to isolate the UPS supply?

Isn’t the point of the UPS to supply power when the normal supply fails?
Isn`t the point of an isolator or isolators to be able to make the decision to isolate in whole of the installation dead for safe working or in an emergency or an urgency to remove all sources or part thereof as appropriate at that particular time?
