Car insurance renewal

Mine renewed today stayed with same company down from 420 to 246
Aviva zero and as the name suggests zero excess
Been thinking about excess - take your zero you are paying a premium for that but if the damage was £100 would you claim and therefore have your cover price hiked up every year. So why not have the £100 excess and pay less insurance - or £200 excess and pay even less.

Mine will go up this year as i managed to secure 3 points from the speeding van this year!!!!!!!! I didnt realise i was in a 20mph area...

cheapest one was about 30 quid cheaper with 350 quid excess so not worth it .
No one would claim for 100 quid even a few hundred quid but if you have a write off or major claim then i know my payout is not going to be reduced for the sake of a few bob more .
Even with the free 200 quid excess thing with go compare the prices dont get near aviva zero .
Yes in that case makes sense.

I was totally shocked a few weeks ago when for the second year in a row, esure dropped the price of 2 car and home insurance.
The boss A3 went from £520 2 years ago, to £350 last year and £260 this year.
My gypsy focus went from £260 to £220 to £175 this year.
Home insurance £280, £250, £228.
Didn't bother looking at anything else and renewed with them.
All prices approximate.
