Disc clean?
Usually corrosion is on the outer rim, harmless but easily hammered away.....if the corrosion is on the faces then the rust can be scraped off but the new pads won’t touch the area as the rust is harder than the iron disc. That’s why I go for new discs but there again I only pay around the £25 mark each as a rule.

The disc descriptions are just generic so we still don’t know what’s the big deal with them......Ive
Seen a few single discs depart from the hub from wear, but never a ventilated one.
New pads need time to bed onto the old disc shape so initially the brakes may not feel too savage.
