cavity wall building reg

hello guys.
this is a general question.

if you were to build and extention wall does it have to be a cavity wall
or can it be a solid wall with internal insulation between wall and plasterboard? what does building reg say?

Fully filled (Crown dritherm cavity batts) 100mm cavity is probably the most practical and the easiest to build.

Why anyone would want the insulation on the face side of the inner leaf is a mystery.

I agree. I've been specifying Superwall caviity slab (same stuff really) for a while now. It is relatively low cost and thermally good and it's also easy to fit so builders like it.
