CCTV Cameras/Understand Connections

Can someone please explain these connections shown in the photos?. Its from XVision Installation Guide.

When I ordered the kit I thought I would only be using a single CAT5 E cable.

Photo 1 probably options on a standard camera using a BNC or IP camera using Ethernet and 12v

Ethernet and 12v connecter (12v probably optional)
 
If the recorder or other device you are connecting the camera to is capable of POE, you will only need the ethernet cable. If it isn't then you will need a separate 12v supply to that connector OR use a POE injector.
That assumes that the camera itself is capable of POE operation - something that the spec will show.
 
Many thanks for your replies. The cameras are PoE, so as Sally 2000 says Ethernet cable only.
