I'm interested in fitting a CCTV system to my house and putting the dvr in the same room as my apple mac where there is no tv or monitor... So what dvr can I use that I can use with my mac such as one with a network dvr...

Thanks

maplins/ swann fitted for a mate failed in first 3 months. ( told him buy cheap buy twice lol)

try dynamic cctv most cameras come with 3 years not had any problems at all.

Maplin/Swann/B&Q kit is cheap and nasty, will look fine at first but is likely (IMO) to fail sooner. It's aimed at the domestic market. It's the stuff you don't see, lenses for instance are plastic rather than glass, LED's are cheap, I could go on.

Many people don't understand the difference between systems, I quote all the time, and get told, I've seen this Alarm/CCTV in B&Q for £100 why are you so expensive. But it's like buying a Ssangjong and a Bentley, they're a world apart.

Sparkymarka is right buy cheap buy twice.

To be honest your not going to get brilliant equipment for £600 especially if you want a monitor for that as well.

This is what i thought!

So if i wanted a good quality cctv system with monitor,4 cameras and a reasonable memory then where do i get it from!

Thanks :D

The hard thing is with cctv is knowing what is good and what is bad!

For example i had a galaxy fitted to my house after seeing them everywhere and hearing that they are great, and they are!

So i need a galaxy type cctv system! :)
