The plaster/artex ceiling cracked and fell out on the angle of the ceiling just above the bedroom window. I had previously filled the cracks in that area. There are other slight cracks in the ceiling as I guess the plasterboard is fairly old. What should I do? How much would it cost to overboard and plaster an average size room by a pro? Is it easy to cut and fix a plaster board that size?

You can patch that but you're ceilings are at end of life. Best board over or pull down and board.
What not board over yourself then get it skimmed.
Not difficult and you can hire a board lifter if required.
Get prices in and decide.

Be careful the artex could be asbestos

Thanks for your advice. I have covered it. I will get it tested first but previously I have sanded it down in that area and at the time not sure if I had a mask on all the time or it was a sub par one!
