Ceiling paint

Hi
Am in the middle of building a home bar on the side of my house.
Please don’t judge me but I’ve had the ceiling artexed as I have beams and want it to look olde worlde.
Anyway I want to paint the ceiling magnolia. I already have magnolia vinyl matt paint.
Can this go straight over the new artex after its completely dry??

No of course we will not judge you splutter splutter giggle OMG!
Just paint it with a diluted coat first many paint makers give advice on the tin but, failing that about 10% water should be about right.
Then with a couple of full coats you should be fine.
