UK phone numbers are (very nearly) invariably 11 digits long, including the leading zero, which you foreigners have to omit and replace with your own version of +44.

well...duh...(too little, too late)
it might have helped to let me know i didnt have to dial the leading zero and why in the world you keep putting the + sign up....when there's no need.

There'a every need - the "+" sign is internationally recognised as meaning "the international access code from your own country". This convention enables a number to be given out without any knowledge of the country from which the number will be dialled.
