I am fitting a magnaclean filter to my combi system, I will pressurize it, test for leaks then if all is ok, insert the inhibitor.

QUOTE :- Another advantage to MagnaClean Professional is the ‘Pro-Fill’ air vent built in to the lid. The specialist design Pro-Fill vent incorporates a unique one-way valve, allowing the installer to inject any chemical or acid agent directly into the MagnaClean without the need to isolate anything on the system. Just simply remove the Pro-Fill air vent screw, inject the chemical and once complete replace the screw.

There is no mention of having to drain off any water to make room for the inhibitor

What type of inhibitor and How much inhibitor do I put into a Vaillant VCW GB 242EH combi with 12 rads

Forget the fancy injector thingy, simply isolate the magna open the lid, using a sponge, remove the water within, add Sentinel X100 or Fernox FI (500ml) into the pot, refit the lide openup, vent and away you go!! Simples! ;)

Yes boilerman :D Using a sponge is really a good idea, I tried this aswell, But it depends, if your central heating system is full of water, and your adding about 5 litres of anti-freeze, would you empty the magnaclean canister, pour anti-freeze, and do this allover again for the remainder of the anti-freeze? would'nt you just be wasting half, as its already been diluted in the water? tell me if i'm wrong :D

No because once you have put the first dose in and circulated it around the system for an hour or two, it will be dilluted, so when you empty the Magna again, in reality you won't be loosing hardly any of the fluid! ;)
