Hi

I've got a Glow Worm Ultimate 40FF Fanned Flue Boiler and just recently its started to make a clicking noise when the heating is turned on.

On closer inpsection the boiler looks to be relighting the pilot light even though its already on and heating the house up. This doesn't happen when the hot water is turned on.

I'm not looking to fix this myself but wondered if anyone knew what the cause could be and a rough cost to fix it before I call a boiler repair specialist in.

Many Thanks

Your description does not indicate any particular fault but I would first be checking that a consistent signal is being produced by the controls.

Since the boiler works OK on HW then that reinforces my expectation that its an external problem.

If I was repairing it and the problem follows my expectation then I would be suggesting a diagnostic fee of £84 plus parts at perhaps £60.

Hi and thanks for the reply.

The fault is that when it tries to relight itself (even though it is lit) it makes a clicking noise. which in itself may not sound too bad, but when the heating comes on at 5 in the morning due to the thermostat its really annoying !!
