Central Heating Question.

Did you use a Kango to make the mounting holes in the wall?

:D

Perhaps he used his electrician's joist-notching and wall-chasing tool?

I inherited the house like that!!!

Current regulations for new installs and boiler changes state you must have TRV's on all rads except the room in which the room stat is fitted, usually the hall or the lounge.

Go for a Honeywell wireless analogue room stat, just a basic stat and change your main programmer. Job done.

I have shed loads of electrical experience, but very little with CH components & systems.

Which Honeywell model numbers do you recommend?

Don't you rate the programmable stats?

Is there a Honeywell programmer that has a timed boost?

I like the idea of TTC's programmer, but if I could find a Honeywell programmer with timed boost & a Honeywell stat to match, the wiring hopefully will be even easier.

Anything for an easy life...

I've fitted one of these...http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/HOH21.html

I used the 3 channel version, rad heating - hot water - kitchen/diner underfloor heating.

I've also seen the 3 channel ones used to split the up and down rads but with TRV's the benefits are open to discussion.

They can't be all bad, my wifes worked out how to use it...1 push for one more hour....2 pushes for 2 more hours

Pens, thats good!

So, that's a secong thumbs up for that particular programmer.

Can anyone verify if my Honeywell choices are any good?

Have decided at last to fit a room stat to try and stop my CH system haemorrhaging cash!

Will let you know the outcome...
