Ceramic hob cable size

Looks like a 4mm existing cable is installed, will this suffice for new 32amp ceramic hob.
The cable is approx 4m length 1.2m embedded in the wall, cable is pvc sheated

Are you sure it is 4mm². That would be most unusual.

There two cables running from the c u to cooker/ hob but I can't tell which goes where until the existing hob and cooker are taken out, one at 4mm the other at 6mm will the 4mm cable suffice if it's running to the hob

Yes.


When you say cooker, do you mean oven?

If so it would be better (though not critical) the other way round -

6mm² to hob and 4mm² to oven.

Oven, wattage will be 5.5kw, maybe that's where the smaller cable runs too just wanted to make sure so the electrician won't quibble, applying diversity tells me it' OK
