That's easy - the odds are ridiculously against the LHC creating a black hole that will swallow the entire

Well, thats Softus and tim gone.
Perhaps each of us is living in our own parallel world,and this black hole is taking us one at a time.

Did anyone else listen to the R4 Torchwood episode?
 
This thing consumes electricity in the order of megawatts. The whole thing is cooled to minus hundreds of degrees centigrade, and there are thousands of strong electromagnets, cameras, detectors, computers, lights, employees, labs.

All this to smash a couple of particles together.

No wonder we're running out of oil. Imagine the consumption if they wanted to smash cars together at the speed of light.



Here's a thought, how do they get the particles into the tube? I can picture someone with a pair of tweezers . . . .
