We have just bought some chandeliers and are going to get a qualified electrician to fit them for us, however I was wondering if I need to go out and get a new type of ceiling rose to fit them with, I can not see any way of attaching the chandelier to our standard ceiling rose... Any suggestions greatly received. :D

They usually hang on a chain from a brass hook.

The wire can be run to an ordinary ceiling rose next to the hook, painted the same colour as the ceiling to make it inconspicuous.

not your problem, but the roses will go

The chandeliers have come with their own ceiling rose, but there does not appear to be a way to fit it to the ceiling. I am gonna call our friend out who is an electrician and see what he says.. Will let you know how we get on.

Thanks again for your response. :)

thats true but most have a "bell" to cover the fixing hook

Ahh maybe thats what I meant rather tahn them having their own rose !

So do you think we will need to get a hook to hang them from, and then the wiring will go inside the bell?

Decorative lights, as any spark will tell you, are not designed with installation in mind. If you have all the bits that came with these lights a spark will be able to fit them for you, so long as you have an earth in our lighting circuit.

Expect a lot of under-breath cursing though... ;)
