I've just had a ComIP installed, however the IP address that was assigned by the installation engineer needs to be changed to avoid problems on my network. Is there a way I can change the local IP address of the unit without calling the engineer back out?

I don't have an engineers code, but I'm the master user.

The internal ip address requires an engineers code to change.

You could try and reassign the ip address using lantronix device installer, this may or may not work due to several factors.

As for the conflict normally the devices use dhcp and pick a free internal ip when added to the system, so not sure why you need it changing.

Thanks for the reply (sorry for the delay!). I need to move the ComIP to another subnet, but it's programmed with a fixed IP at the moment so I'm a little stuck.

I can't seem to be able to arm the panel from the Android app either - it requires the front door to be opened/closed, which isn't possible from a remote arm! I think I'll need to get the engineer back out.

Yes you will need engineer back to change subnet.
Have you re registered your app
Android devices have big issues with Texecom app and you need to keep re registering the app to keep it connected.
Go into app
My site
Hold down until choose action and press Edit
Go into notifications
Press register account

You will need to keep doing the above for it connected to the app with your android device

It seems to connect OK, it just can't arm remotely - when I do it from the virtual keypad, I get the exit tone sounding for eternity. The "smart key" part of the app only seems to respond to the aux/cog button - the arm/part arm/disarm buttons don't do anything.

  1. These control panels will require the installation engineer to assign the SmartKeyTM areas.

Did your engineer set you up for smart key ?
Can you set the alarm via keypad ?
Is you final exit route set up as final door set or timed exit ?

I don't think he set anything up with Smartkey, so that may be why.

I think I have a final door set, so does that prevent remote arming when I can't trigger a door?

I can put in my user code in to the virtual keypad and manually arm it, it'll start the exit tone - as long as I open and close the main door, it'll arm. If I press the "quick arm" button on the virtual keypad, it'll do nothing.

Exit timer needs to changed to timed.
I think you need engineer back to set up your app correctly ?
Did he/she ask you what you wanted to do with the app for remote access or did you just want the email notifications ?

the latest versions have remote arm instant option 58 in global options/ system config.

Quick arm is assigned only to a physical keypad, not a virtual one like in the app.

Yep, I'll give them a call today and see if they can come back round. I did mention that I wanted to be able to arm/disarm the system remotely when they quoted for it.

Thanks - when you say latest, do you mean latest panel firmware?

Thanks, I've got the engineer coming next week to upgrade to v3 :).
