Changing a gas hob to an electric hob.

Hi all.

I have a gas hob build in to a worktop made of laminate, which has been there for 25yrs. I want to change it to an electric hob.

When the gas hob is removed will it:
(a) come out nice and cleanly
or
(b) pull the laminate to pieces due to glue or sealant or whatever is between the hob and the top of the laminate worktop.

It looks to me like the hole size in the worktop shouldn't present too many problems providing I shop carefully.

Yes, might need cleaned up but it shouldn't damage the worktop.

If it’s been there 25 years like to have leaked around the hob and swollen the worktop.
