changing ceiling light fitting

Hi , I would appreciate some help if possible. Swopped over kitchen light fitting but the new light wires up a bit different and I cant get it working right.
Orginal fitting was wired like this. 3 cables coming in One cable had two reds , two other cables each- red black and earth .Was originally connected to light fitting one red from the cable with two red in its own block, all other reds together and blacks together.
Was hoping to just repeat this in new light fitting but it only has a block of three Live Earth Neutral.
Tried connecting the red on its own to live , blacks to neutral and the 3 reds together in a separate block- nothing happened.
Then tried the 3 reds together in Live and the red on its own in separate block. Light now comes on but stays on whether on at switch socket or not

You wired it up correctly the first time.
