How much would someone charge me to change a single rad to a double 1000mm

I have a combi installed in the loft, easy to get to though

The pipework comes down the wall and along the skirting and is hidden by some plastic boxing in

The new rad is a bit longer and fatter than the old one

The pipework would need to be altered to suit the existing pipework and
and hung on new fittings

As the plasterer plastered over the old holes before i noticed.

and anyone in the oxford area willing to do it ?

drain down system

hang new rad + valves

alter pipework

refill + add 1 litre of inhibitor

refill system

vent all rads and balance out new one

4 hours work

£160

if I attempt to do this myself buy getting a 900 rad instead of a 1000 and use extender tail pieces

Will I still need to add inhibitor if I don't drain the system ?

and where would I add it if I do ?

it's usually just as easy to drain down as you have a sealed system so not much chance of air locks when filling back up. If you have a towel rad you can pour inhibitor in the top of that after taking bleed valve off. Or buy the stuff you can inject via filling loop.

If you need a hand i'm in the swindon area. Which part of oxford are you in?

My old rad is a 1000 including the tail pipes and the new rad is 1000 plus the tail pipes

If I use a 900 rad instead of a 1000 and extenders the pipework should fit i hope

But I live in Botley

Which is closest to the A420 to Swindon :)

probably takes me 20mins from the edge of Oxford to the outskirts of Swindon

But Swindon and Oxford hate each other, are you from Swindon ?

No wait that's just football lol

But if you can do the job before xmas that would be good

ha ha. Im actually from oxford originally! NOT a swindon fan! Im the oxford side of swindon. Message me your email if you like.
