Sitting on the fence here but the rabid left call out pretty much every body to their right as racists.

At times like this, we need our world leaders to be dialing the rhetoric and other things down.
Alas, it seems to be going the opposite way.
When you see what's going on e.g. in France, Nepal, here etc, it seems as though the masses are revolting against p1ss poor government, leaders, super rich hoarding the wealth etc.

Left and right should be careful about what they say.
Nigel Farage went to America and told the world his country was worse than North Korea, language like that encourages his supporters to believe they are being victimised and justified in using violence.

I am sure that they will still think that way. Guns are not half as dangerous as those who own them. It wouldn't matter about gun laws as if they are that crazy to shoot someone, they would simply do it another way. A terrible thing to happen, Charlie was a great guy and hyper clever.
Alas, and it'll never change, politics positively thrives on dialing up the rhetoric and pumping what they say (on either side) full of words and statements that are designed to press peoples buttons.
Heck, even tonight I watched an immigration debate tv prog on Sky. As per usual with these things (especially with a rubbish chair as this one had) within minutes it descended into shouting, talking over each other, pivoting away from answering questions etc.
Jeez, as much as I find politics interesting, there's an increasing part of me that is well and truly jaded with the whole thing. I actually don't blame people who say 'oh, I take nothing to do with the news and what's going on in the world. I'll stick to doing my allotment and walking my dog.'

It is. the best way to live your life rather than getting involved and all worked up over politics. I ride my bike, enjoy life to the full and pretty much don't fret over the news.
the thing is the ramping up of division and hate is driven by the right not the left.
the rise in polarisation and division has taken place at the same time as right wing populists like Trump, Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage.
Please don’t try and put this on the left.
Note: notwithstanding the actual rabid left are extremely toxic, but they largely tend to stick to their echo chambers and vent their hatred towards the soft left.

Strange then how shootings in the UK are low due to our laws - one of the good things about the UK...

You are such a boring man, full of self importance and heavily opinionated. Nothing I said was rubbish. Guns are not dangerous in the right responsible hands. They are not banned in the UK and a gun licence is easy to get.
Thoughts and prayers, it's what he would have wanted, he thought some deaths were worth it after all.
